This policy explains what HuntPDF does with the files you upload and the information we collect when you use the site. It applies to huntpdf.com and every tool on it.
Most tools send your file to our server, process it, and return the result. A small number of tools run entirely in your browser and never send the file anywhere; where that is the case, the tool page says so.
Tools described as AI tools (document chat, summarise, translate, redaction suggestions, resume analysis, contract analysis and similar) send the relevant text from your document to a third-party AI provider so it can generate a response. We route requests across several providers for availability, which currently include OpenAI, Google, Groq, Cerebras and DeepSeek. Their handling of that text is governed by their own terms. If your document is confidential and you are not permitted to send it to a third-party AI provider, do not use the AI tools.
When you paste a share link, our server downloads that file so the tool can process it. It is treated exactly like a file you upload from your computer and is deleted after processing. We do not connect to your cloud account and we cannot see any other file in it.
We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used — which tools are opened, how long pages take, where errors occur. This uses cookies and collects a truncated IP address, browser type, approximate location and pages visited. It does not tell us anything about the contents of your files.
If you sign in, we use a cookie to keep you signed in. You can block or clear cookies in your browser; the tools will still work.
Traffic to and from huntpdf.com is encrypted in transit. Files are processed on our servers and removed afterwards. No system is perfect, and we make no guarantee that transmission over the internet is completely secure. Use your own judgement about what you upload.
Depending on where you live — including under the UK and EU GDPR, and comparable laws in Australia, Canada, India, Singapore and the UAE — you may have the right to request access to the personal data we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, or object to how it is used. Write to us at our contact page and we will respond.
HuntPDF is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data.
HuntPDF complies with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the UK GDPR, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), and the UAE Personal Data Protection Law (Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021). Wherever you are, we apply the same standard: minimal data, short retention, no selling of personal data.

Legal bases (GDPR Art. 6): performance of a contract (processing the file you submit), legitimate interest (security, rate-limiting, abuse prevention), and consent where required.
Retention: uploaded files are deleted automatically after processing; results are deleted when you download them or shortly after. Server logs are kept only as long as needed for security.
You have the right to: access the personal data we hold about you; correct it; have it erased ("right to be forgotten"); restrict or object to processing; data portability; and to withdraw consent at any time. California residents additionally have the right to know, delete, and opt out of sale (we do not sell personal data) without discrimination. To exercise any right, contact us via the contact page — we respond within 30 days. You may also lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
Our servers are located in the EU/EEA region (hosting by Hostinger). Where data is transferred outside your jurisdiction, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses. AI features send document text to the AI provider selected at runtime solely to generate your result; content is not used to train models by us, and we do not store it after your result is delivered.
We will update this page when our practices change and revise the date at the top. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
